Review the guarantees and other agreements the franchisee must sign with the disclosure pack

How AI is used
From the disclosure pack and the drafts the lawyer uploads, list every agreement a franchisee, or a director or other person involved in the franchisee, must enter as a condition of the franchise. For each one record its type, whether a copy is in the pack, and the date it was given. Note a confidentiality agreement, a hire-purchase agreement, a guarantee and a loan where those are the drafts. Do not mark the pack as complete.
What the lawyer must review
The lawyer decides whether each required agreement was given in time, whether the 14-day wait has run from the documents in final form, and whether the franchisee has been told to get independent legal, business and accounting advice.

Checklist

  1. Look for a director's guarantee or a loan that is a condition of entry, not only the franchise agreement.
  2. Count 14 days from the documents in final form, including on a transfer.
  3. If a document was not available 14 days before entry, record the date it was actually given.
  4. Do not treat this list as the pre-signing timetable already in the catalogue. This list is the side agreements.
