How AI is used
Record the fiscal year of the disclosure document in the file and whether a revised document was prepared. Do not create a register profile.
What the lawyer must review
Part 436 as opened requires a disclosure document. It does not create a public franchisor register that is updated each year. Section 436.7(a) says all information shall be current as of the close of the most recent fiscal year, and that within 120 days after the close of the fiscal year the franchisor prepares a revised disclosure document. Section 436.10(b) says a state law that affords equal or greater protection, including registration of disclosure documents, is not inconsistent. No state registration statute was opened, so none is named. The lawyer decides whether any state filing applies.
