How AI is used
Extract the adverse-action notice, the reasons it states, and any field that records race, color, religion, national origin, sex, marital status, age or public-assistance income. Do not rewrite the notice.
What the lawyer must review
15 U.S.C. § 1691(a) makes it unlawful for a creditor to discriminate in any aspect of a credit transaction on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex or marital status, or age if the applicant has capacity to contract; because income comes from a public assistance program; or because the applicant exercised a right under the Consumer Credit Protection Act in good faith. Section 1691(d) entitles an applicant against whom adverse action is taken to a statement of specific reasons. You decide whether this file meets that duty. A comparison of outcomes is not, by itself, a finding of discrimination.
