Decide what statement, if any, is given to the payer after a Form 8300

- How AI is used
- Record whether the filing is a required return for cash over $10,000 or a voluntary under-threshold filing marked as suspicious. List the statement fields the IRS page names. Draft no statement to the payer.
- What the lawyer must review
- For a return required by 26 U.S.C. § 6050I(a), subsection (e) requires a written statement to each person named on the return, by 31 January of the following year. The IRS page says that statement includes the business name, address, contact person, telephone number and the aggregate amount, and that the information was furnished to the IRS. The same page says a voluntary suspicious filing under the threshold, with the suspicious box checked, is not to be accompanied by a statement to the individuals named. This is not a suspicious-activity-report tipping-off rule, and it is not an AUSTRAC rule.
