> Prompt-driven large-language-model classification of documents for eDiscovery review, submitted from Relativity through a vendor plug-in, returning a coded result plus a written explanation for each document.

Canonical page: https://ailawframework.com/software/ediscovery-ai
Last reviewed: 2026-10-10

Site index for agents: https://ailawframework.com/llms.txt

Plan covered: The Review suite (Relevance, Privilege) delivered as a Relativity plug-in, as published 2026-09-27. The Early Case Intelligence, Privacy and Multimedia suites named in the vendor's navigation were not read and need separate review.

## Capabilities

- eDiscovery document review
- Document classification
- Document summarisation
- Data extraction

## Key facts

| Fact | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Deployment | SaaS |
| Hosting regions | Unknown |
| Australian region | Unknown |
| Training on customer content | Unknown |
| Retention | Not established for documents submitted for classification. The privacy notice read on 2026-09-27 (last updated 8 January 2025) has a data-retention section that covers only 'Personal Information' and gives criteria rather than periods: 'We will retain your Personal Information for as long as needed or permitted in light of the purpose(s) for which it was obtained'. Its scope clause limits the notice to 'information collected on or through the websites owned and operated by eDiscovery AI or through other interactions with eDiscovery AI and its clients'. Nothing read states how long submitted review documents, prompts, classifications or generated privilege-log text are held, or whether they are held at all. |
| Integrations | Relativity (vendor-published plug-in) |
| Pricing | No price is published. A 56-URL firecrawl map of ediscoveryai.com run on 2026-09-27 returned no pricing page, and the four vendor pages read carry only 'Schedule a demo' and 'Let's connect' calls to action. The terms and conditions read on 2026-09-27 refer to fees only indirectly, through a clause prohibiting resale without written permission. Whether the plug-in is charged per document, per matter or per seat was not established. |
| Australian presence | Unknown. No Australian contracting entity, ACN or ABN was found, and no Australian office, hosting region or data-residency statement appears on any page read. The only entity detail the vendor publishes is on the terms and conditions page read 2026-09-27: 'This Application is provided by: eDiscovery AI, 7760 France Ave S #1100, Bloomington, MN 55435', with a support email and no corporate suffix, no state of incorporation and no company number. The privacy notice repeats the same Bloomington, Minnesota address with a United States telephone number. The privacy notice's international-transfer section says only that 'We operate in various countries throughout the world, including, but not limited to, the US and countries located in the EU and EEA' and does not name Australia. An Australian eDiscovery provider, Sky Discovery, published on its own site on 28 February 2025 that it had partnered with eDiscovery AI and used it with Continuous Active Learning on a live matter; that is the Australian partner publishing, not eDiscovery AI, and the vendor's own /partners page was not read within the credit budget, so no Australian presence is recorded here. |

## What the research found

| Topic | Status | Finding | Open question | Sources |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| What is being licensed | Public claim only | The vendor's own site carries the product, which settles existence. The navigation read on 2026-09-27 lists four solution suites — Early Case Intelligence, Review, Privacy and Multimedia — and the Review page is the only one read in full. Review contains two named tools: Relevance and Privilege. Delivery is into somebody else's review platform: 'Submit your documents to eDiscovery AI using the convenient Relativity Plugin for classification.' The vendor supplies the classifier, not the review database. | Which suites and tools are included in the licence we would sign, and is the Relativity plug-in the only way to submit documents? | [Review — eDiscovery AI product page (Relevance and Privilege)](https://ediscoveryai.com/review); [About us — eDiscovery AI](https://ediscoveryai.com/about) |
| What the Review suite does | Public claim only | From the Review page read 2026-09-27: Relevance takes a prompt and a destination field — 'Relevance requires entry of only the prompt instructions and the field to map results' — classifies the documents, and 'then gives you an explanation as to why it categorized the document the way it did'. Privilege 'identifies attorneys and names them in a separate field, making it easy to validate results', states which elements of privilege are present, and produces 'A summary of the document and the reasons for the privilege … in a privilege log entry field that can be used or edited as needed'. The published workflow is four steps: identify the document set, specify criteria, submit through the Relativity plug-in, analyse results. | Which output fields does each tool write, and can we restrict it to writing a classification without the generated summary and privilege-log text? | [Review — eDiscovery AI product page (Relevance and Privilege)](https://ediscoveryai.com/review) |
| Release stage | Public claim only | The pages read carry no beta, preview or early-access marker, and the site carries 2026-dated logo assets and a 2026 copyright notice, so the Review suite reads as generally available at 2026-09-27. No version number, release note or changelog was found on the four pages read or in the 56-URL site map, and the help centre at help.ediscoveryai.com was not opened within the credit budget. | What release is current, and where are release notes for the Review suite published? | [Review — eDiscovery AI product page (Relevance and Privilege)](https://ediscoveryai.com/review); [About us — eDiscovery AI](https://ediscoveryai.com/about); [Firecrawl site map of ediscoveryai.com, 56 URLs, searched for product, security, privacy, terms, pricing, ai and llms pages](https://ediscoveryai.com) |
| Where the processing happens | Not confirmed | The only architectural statement found is that documents are sent to the vendor for classification — 'Submit your documents to eDiscovery AI using the convenient Relativity Plugin' — which implies a hosted service reached from the customer's Relativity instance. No hosting region, cloud provider, tenancy model or private-deployment option is published on any page read, and the 56-URL site map returned no security page, trust centre or architecture page at all. There is no statement that a customer can run the classifier inside its own tenancy. | In which country and on whose cloud are our documents processed, and is a single-tenant or in-tenancy deployment available? | [Review — eDiscovery AI product page (Relevance and Privilege)](https://ediscoveryai.com/review); [Firecrawl site map of ediscoveryai.com, 56 URLs, searched for product, security, privacy, terms, pricing, ai and llms pages](https://ediscoveryai.com) |
| Integration surface | Public claim only | Relativity is the only integration published on the pages read: the Review page instructs the user to submit documents 'using the convenient Relativity Plugin for classification', and results are mapped to a Relativity field the reviewer nominates. The vendor's navigation carries a Partners page and an external help centre, neither of which was read. No API, no other review platform and no document-management integration is named on the pages read. | Which Relativity versions and hosting models does the plug-in support, and is there an API for submitting documents from any other platform? | [Review — eDiscovery AI product page (Relevance and Privilege)](https://ediscoveryai.com/review) |
| Licence terms actually published | Public claim only | The only terms published are terms of use for the website, 'Terms and Conditions of ediscoveryai.com', latest update 23 May 2024, read 2026-09-27. They govern 'the use of this Application, and, any other related Agreement or legal relationship with the Owner', name the Owner as 'eDiscovery AI' at a Bloomington, Minnesota address, and contain no governing-law clause, no venue, no service levels, no data-processing terms and no warranty about outputs. They reserve the Owner's right to 'transfer, assign, dispose of by novation, or subcontract any or all rights or obligations under these Terms'. | Which document is the service agreement for the Review suite, and may we see it before a trial? | [Terms and Conditions of ediscoveryai.com — latest update 23 May 2024](https://ediscoveryai.com/terms-and-conditions) |
| Support | Public claim only | A help centre is published at help.ediscoveryai.com and linked from the About page footer read 2026-09-27, and a support email address is given in both the terms and conditions and the privacy notice. No support hours, response targets, escalation path or Australian-time-zone coverage is published on any page read. | What are the support hours and response targets, and is any support delivered in Australian business hours? | [Terms and Conditions of ediscoveryai.com — latest update 23 May 2024](https://ediscoveryai.com/terms-and-conditions); [eDiscovery AI Privacy Notice — last updated 8 January 2025](https://ediscoveryai.com/privacy-policy); [About us — eDiscovery AI](https://ediscoveryai.com/about) |
| Published performance figures | Public claim only | The Review page read 2026-09-27 publishes one figure: 'Consistently achieves 90% recall with excellent precision. Identify the important documents in your review immediately at a fraction of the cost.' No methodology, sample, corpus, date, matter type or independent verification accompanies it, and no precision figure is given. The same page also states 'No additional indexing or model training required for additional documents; just apply the same instructions against the new document set.' The navigation blurb and body copy on that page also use the wording 'industry leading features, speed and accuracy' and 'the most effective, efficient review you've ever experienced'; that is recorded here as the vendor's own marketing wording and is carried into no field of this profile. | On what corpus, matter type and date was the 90% recall figure measured, what was the precision, and will you supply the methodology? | [Review — eDiscovery AI product page (Relevance and Privilege)](https://ediscoveryai.com/review) |
| Tasks the vendor puts it to | Public claim only | The Review page frames the tasks as first-pass relevance coding and privilege screening within a Relativity review, contrasted by the vendor with Boolean search and with training or improving technology-assisted review. Three further suites — Early Case Intelligence (Case Insight, Case Elements), Privacy (PII Detect, PII Extract) and Multimedia (Image Compare, Image Filter, Facial Recognition) — are named in the navigation read 2026-09-27, but those pages were not read and no capability is recorded here from them. | For an Australian discovery or regulatory production, which tasks do you support today, and which are in the suites we have not seen? | [Review — eDiscovery AI product page (Relevance and Privilege)](https://ediscoveryai.com/review) |
| Jurisdiction and legal-content coverage | Not confirmed | Nothing read addresses jurisdiction. The Privilege tool's published output describes 'attorneys' and privilege elements, United States wording, and nothing read states whether the privilege taxonomy covers Australian legal professional privilege, litigation privilege, common interest or without-prejudice settlement communications. No Australian court, practice note or discovery rule is referenced on any page read, and the terms carry no governing-law clause at all. | Has the Privilege tool been configured for Australian legal professional privilege, and what law governs our agreement? | [Review — eDiscovery AI product page (Relevance and Privilege)](https://ediscoveryai.com/review); [Terms and Conditions of ediscoveryai.com — latest update 23 May 2024](https://ediscoveryai.com/terms-and-conditions) |
| Check for vendor content directing how AI describes the product | Not confirmed | A deliberate check was made on 2026-09-27 and found nothing. A 56-URL firecrawl map of ediscoveryai.com with 'ai llms' among the search terms returned no /llms.txt, /ai-info, /ai or /for-ai page and no equivalent. The four pages read — Review, terms and conditions, privacy notice and About — were searched for an 'Instructions for AI Assistants' style block and for the strings 'for LLMs', 'AI systems', 'language model' and 'describe eDiscovery'; there was no match. No URL was guessed, so a file at a path the map did not surface cannot be ruled out. The pages also carry no machine-readable question-and-answer block, so no instance was found of the vendor answering a comparative or superlative question about itself; superlative wording does appear in ordinary marketing prose, which is a different thing and is recorded under qualityEvidence. | Do you publish any page, file or embedded block intended to tell AI systems or crawlers how to describe eDiscovery AI? | [Review — eDiscovery AI product page (Relevance and Privilege)](https://ediscoveryai.com/review); [Terms and Conditions of ediscoveryai.com — latest update 23 May 2024](https://ediscoveryai.com/terms-and-conditions); [eDiscovery AI Privacy Notice — last updated 8 January 2025](https://ediscoveryai.com/privacy-policy); [About us — eDiscovery AI](https://ediscoveryai.com/about); [Firecrawl site map of ediscoveryai.com, 56 URLs, searched for product, security, privacy, terms, pricing, ai and llms pages](https://ediscoveryai.com) |
| What the vendor says the output is for | Public claim only | The Review page presents the output as review coding to be validated by the team: the explanation feature exists so that the reviewer can see 'why it categorized the document the way it did', the named-solicitor field is there 'making it easy to validate results', and the privilege-log entry 'can be used or edited as needed'. Nothing read states that the output is not legal advice, and no disclaimer about reliance appears in the terms and conditions read 2026-09-27. | Do your terms disclaim reliance on the classifications and the generated privilege-log text, and where is that recorded? | [Review — eDiscovery AI product page (Relevance and Privilege)](https://ediscoveryai.com/review); [Terms and Conditions of ediscoveryai.com — latest update 23 May 2024](https://ediscoveryai.com/terms-and-conditions) |
| Authority to put client documents through the service | Not confirmed | Nothing read addresses the firm's authority to send client material to the vendor. The published terms are website terms of use and contain no clause about customer data, confidentiality or client consent. The privacy notice, last updated 8 January 2025, says it applies only to information collected through the vendor's websites 'or through other interactions with eDiscovery AI and its clients', and lists as a purpose 'to process personal data provided by our clients for the intended purposes' — acknowledging that client-provided personal data is processed, without any processor obligations, confidentiality undertaking or consent mechanism attached. | Under which document do you accept confidentiality and processor obligations for the client documents we submit, given the published terms cover only the website? | [Terms and Conditions of ediscoveryai.com — latest update 23 May 2024](https://ediscoveryai.com/terms-and-conditions); [eDiscovery AI Privacy Notice — last updated 8 January 2025](https://ediscoveryai.com/privacy-policy) |
| Which model, and whose | Not confirmed | No model, model family, model version or model provider is named anywhere on the four vendor pages read on 2026-09-27, and the 56-URL site map returned no architecture, security or trust page that might name one. The nearest statement is operational rather than architectural: 'No additional indexing or model training required for additional documents; just apply the same instructions against the new document set.' Whether the classifier calls a third-party model API, and in which country, is not published. | Which model and provider performs the classification, in which region does inference run, and under what terms does that provider handle our documents? | [Review — eDiscovery AI product page (Relevance and Privilege)](https://ediscoveryai.com/review); [Firecrawl site map of ediscoveryai.com, 56 URLs, searched for product, security, privacy, terms, pricing, ai and llms pages](https://ediscoveryai.com) |
| Subprocessors | Not confirmed | No subprocessor list exists. The 56-URL site map returned no subprocessor page, DPA or trust centre. The privacy notice read 2026-09-27 speaks only in general terms and only about personal information: 'We may share your Personal Information with third parties if we use those third parties to perform services for our business or on our behalf' and 'We may also use third parties to host or operate some of our websites or related computers and software applications.' It also reserves the right to 'share or use your Personal Information for any other legally-permitted business purpose upon our sole discretion'. No hosting provider, model provider or support provider is named. | Will you provide a current subprocessor list naming every party that touches submitted documents, with each one's country, and commit to notice before you change it? | [eDiscovery AI Privacy Notice — last updated 8 January 2025](https://ediscoveryai.com/privacy-policy); [Firecrawl site map of ediscoveryai.com, 56 URLs, searched for product, security, privacy, terms, pricing, ai and llms pages](https://ediscoveryai.com) |
| Training on customer content | Not confirmed | No statement was found that customer documents are not used to train or improve models. The only sentence on the Review page about training runs the other way and is about the customer's workload, not the vendor's rights: 'No additional indexing or model training required for additional documents.' The privacy notice permits use of personal information 'for analytical purposes and to research, develop and improve programs, products, services and content', which is a broad improvement right over the categories that notice covers. There is no DPA, no trust centre and no security page in which a no-training commitment might sit. | Will you commit in the agreement that submitted documents, prompts and outputs are never used to train, fine-tune or evaluate any model, including by your model provider? | [Review — eDiscovery AI product page (Relevance and Privilege)](https://ediscoveryai.com/review); [eDiscovery AI Privacy Notice — last updated 8 January 2025](https://ediscoveryai.com/privacy-policy); [Firecrawl site map of ediscoveryai.com, 56 URLs, searched for product, security, privacy, terms, pricing, ai and llms pages](https://ediscoveryai.com) |
| Use of corrections and feedback | Not confirmed | Nothing read addresses what happens to reviewer corrections. The workflow described on the Review page invites iteration — the privilege-log entry 'can be used or edited as needed' and the named-solicitor field exists to validate results — but no page states whether edits, overturned classifications or prompt text are retained, analysed or used to improve the service. The privacy notice's improvement right covers 'Personal Information' under that notice, not review outputs. | Are reviewer corrections, overturned classifications and prompt text retained or used for any purpose beyond returning our result? | [Review — eDiscovery AI product page (Relevance and Privilege)](https://ediscoveryai.com/review); [eDiscovery AI Privacy Notice — last updated 8 January 2025](https://ediscoveryai.com/privacy-policy) |
| How long submitted documents are kept | Not confirmed | Not established. The privacy notice read 2026-09-27 has a Data Retention section that addresses only 'Personal Information' and states criteria rather than periods: 'We will retain your Personal Information for as long as needed or permitted in light of the purpose(s) for which it was obtained', by reference to the length of the relationship, legal obligations and the vendor's legal position. Nothing read states a retention period, or a no-retention position, for the documents submitted for classification, the prompts, or the generated summaries and privilege-log text. | How long do you hold submitted documents, prompts and generated text after a classification run completes, and can we contract for deletion on completion? | [eDiscovery AI Privacy Notice — last updated 8 January 2025](https://ediscoveryai.com/privacy-policy) |
| Deletion on request and on exit | Not confirmed | No deletion right for matter documents is published. The terms and conditions read 2026-09-27 address deletion only on discontinuance of the service: 'If the Service is discontinued, the Owner will cooperate with Users to enable them to withdraw Personal Data or information and will respect Users' rights relating to continued product use and/or compensation, as provided for by applicable law.' That is a cooperation undertaking on withdrawal, not a deletion commitment, and it is triggered by the vendor discontinuing rather than by the customer asking. The privacy notice's deletion rights sit in its state and country notices and attach to personal information about individuals. | Will you delete submitted documents and all derived text on written request within a stated number of days, and certify it? | [Terms and Conditions of ediscoveryai.com — latest update 23 May 2024](https://ediscoveryai.com/terms-and-conditions); [eDiscovery AI Privacy Notice — last updated 8 January 2025](https://ediscoveryai.com/privacy-policy) |
| Vendor staff access to matter documents | Not confirmed | Nothing read states whether vendor personnel can see submitted documents. There is no security page, trust centre or DPA in the 56-URL site map in which an access-control or least-privilege statement might sit, and the website terms contain no confidentiality clause binding the Owner's staff. The privacy notice's security section says only 'We take a number of steps to protect against the loss and misuse of the information under our control' and warns that 'no Internet transmission is 100% secure'. | Which of your staff or contractors can read submitted documents, under what approval, and is that access logged and available to us? | [eDiscovery AI Privacy Notice — last updated 8 January 2025](https://ediscoveryai.com/privacy-policy); [Firecrawl site map of ediscoveryai.com, 56 URLs, searched for product, security, privacy, terms, pricing, ai and llms pages](https://ediscoveryai.com) |
| Who can run a classification and see the results | Not confirmed | Nothing read describes authentication, roles or permissions for the plug-in. Because results are written to a Relativity field the reviewer nominates, the customer's Relativity permissions govern who then sees them, but no page read states how the plug-in authenticates to Relativity, which Relativity permission is needed to launch a run, or whether a run can be restricted to a workspace or document set. No administrator documentation was read. | What Relativity permission is required to launch a classification, and can we restrict the plug-in to nominated workspaces and fields? | [Review — eDiscovery AI product page (Relevance and Privilege)](https://ediscoveryai.com/review) |
| Encryption | Not confirmed | No encryption statement was found. The 56-URL site map returned no security page or trust centre, and the privacy notice's security section makes no reference to encryption in transit or at rest: 'We take a number of steps to protect against the loss and misuse of the information under our control. Please keep in mind that no Internet transmission is 100% secure. Any information you send to or from this site may not be completely secure, and you do so at your own risk.' That section is written about the website. | What encryption applies to documents in transit to your service and at rest in it, and who holds the keys? | [eDiscovery AI Privacy Notice — last updated 8 January 2025](https://ediscoveryai.com/privacy-policy); [Firecrawl site map of ediscoveryai.com, 56 URLs, searched for product, security, privacy, terms, pricing, ai and llms pages](https://ediscoveryai.com) |
| Independent assurance | Not confirmed | No assurance claim of any kind was found. The 56-URL site map returned no trust centre, security page, certifications page or compliance page, and the four pages read name no SOC 2 report, no ISO/IEC certification, no IRAP assessment and no penetration-testing regime. For a service that classifies privileged material, that absence is itself the finding rather than a gap to be filled by inference. Unverified, not applied (2026-10-10): security claim GDPR (https://csdisco.com/offerings/ediscovery/features-security). not the vendor's domain. Unverified, not applied (2026-10-10): security claim ISO 27001 (https://csdisco.com/offerings/ediscovery/features-security). not the vendor's domain. Unverified, not applied (2026-10-10): security claim SOC 2 (https://csdisco.com/offerings/ediscovery/features-security). not the vendor's domain. | Do you hold a SOC 2 Type II report or ISO/IEC 27001 certification, and will you provide the report and the scope statement under NDA? | [Firecrawl site map of ediscoveryai.com, 56 URLs, searched for product, security, privacy, terms, pricing, ai and llms pages](https://ediscoveryai.com); [Review — eDiscovery AI product page (Relevance and Privilege)](https://ediscoveryai.com/review) |
| Contracting entity and the contract that governs the service | Public claim only | The only contract published is the website terms of use, latest update 23 May 2024, read 2026-09-27. It identifies the Owner as 'eDiscovery AI, 7760 France Ave S #1100, Bloomington, MN 55435' with no corporate suffix and no state of incorporation, and it states that it governs 'the use of this Application, and, any other related Agreement or legal relationship with the Owner'. It contains no governing-law clause, no venue, no confidentiality clause and no data terms. No master services agreement, order form, DPA or Australian contracting entity is published anywhere in the 56-URL site map. | Which legal entity would contract with an Australian firm, under which law and venue, and which document would govern the handling of our documents? | [Terms and Conditions of ediscoveryai.com — latest update 23 May 2024](https://ediscoveryai.com/terms-and-conditions); [Firecrawl site map of ediscoveryai.com, 56 URLs, searched for product, security, privacy, terms, pricing, ai and llms pages](https://ediscoveryai.com) |
| Cross-border transfer | Public claim only | The only transfer statement is in the privacy notice read 2026-09-27 and is about personal information rather than matter documents: 'We operate in various countries throughout the world, including, but not limited to, the US and countries located in the EU and EEA, so your Personal Information may be accessed from countries outside the the United States which may not guarantee the same level of protection of Personal Information as the one in which you reside. In such cases, we may rely on mechanisms permitted under the laws of your country where you are located to affect the transfer with appropriate safeguards.' No mechanism is named, Australia is not mentioned, and no statement covers where submitted documents go. | Which countries will our documents be transferred to or accessed from, and what transfer mechanism applies for an Australian customer? | [eDiscovery AI Privacy Notice — last updated 8 January 2025](https://ediscoveryai.com/privacy-policy) |
| Breach notification | Not confirmed | No breach-notification commitment was found. The website terms contain no incident clause, the privacy notice contains no notification obligation or timeframe, and the 56-URL site map returned no trust centre, status page or security-advisory page. There is no published address for reporting a vulnerability other than the general support email. | Within how many hours of becoming aware of an incident affecting our documents will you notify us, in writing, and to whom? | [Terms and Conditions of ediscoveryai.com — latest update 23 May 2024](https://ediscoveryai.com/terms-and-conditions); [eDiscovery AI Privacy Notice — last updated 8 January 2025](https://ediscoveryai.com/privacy-policy); [Firecrawl site map of ediscoveryai.com, 56 URLs, searched for product, security, privacy, terms, pricing, ai and llms pages](https://ediscoveryai.com) |
| Changes to terms and to the service | Public claim only | The terms and conditions read 2026-09-27 reserve a unilateral change right with no notice period: 'The Owner reserves the right to amend or otherwise modify these Terms at any time', with the Owner to 'appropriately inform the User', and 'The continued use of the Service will signify the User's acceptance of the revised Terms.' A user who does not accept must stop using the service and may terminate. The privacy notice says only 'We will post changes or updates to this Privacy Policy on this or a similar page of this website.' Nothing read commits to notice before a change to the model, the prompt handling or the output format. | Will you give written notice before changing the terms, the model or the output fields, and for how long can we stay on the prior version? | [Terms and Conditions of ediscoveryai.com — latest update 23 May 2024](https://ediscoveryai.com/terms-and-conditions); [eDiscovery AI Privacy Notice — last updated 8 January 2025](https://ediscoveryai.com/privacy-policy) |
| Exit | Public claim only | One helpful structural point and one gap. The structural point: because classifications, named-solicitor values and privilege-log text are written into fields inside the customer's own Relativity workspace, that work product sits in the customer's platform rather than the vendor's. The gap: the only exit language published is the service-interruption clause in the terms read 2026-09-27, under which the Owner 'may also decide to suspend or discontinue the Service altogether' and will then 'cooperate with Users to enable them to withdraw Personal Data or information'. No notice period, no transition assistance, no return-or-destroy obligation and no export of prompts or run history is published. | On termination, what do you return or destroy, over what period, and do we keep the prompt library and run history? | [Review — eDiscovery AI product page (Relevance and Privilege)](https://ediscoveryai.com/review); [Terms and Conditions of ediscoveryai.com — latest update 23 May 2024](https://ediscoveryai.com/terms-and-conditions) |
| Connectors and what the tool can reach | Public claim only | One connector is published: the Relativity plug-in, described on the Review page read 2026-09-27 — 'Submit your documents to eDiscovery AI using the convenient Relativity Plugin for classification' — which both takes the document set and writes results back to a nominated field. No other connector, no email or file-share integration and no API is named on the pages read. What the plug-in is permitted to read inside a Relativity workspace, and whether that can be scoped, is not published. | What scope does the plug-in request inside Relativity, and can it be limited to a nominated workspace, document set and field? | [Review — eDiscovery AI product page (Relevance and Privilege)](https://ediscoveryai.com/review) |
| Web or external retrieval | Not confirmed | Nothing read describes any internet or external retrieval. The workflow published on the Review page is closed over the submitted document set: the reviewer supplies prompt instructions and a destination field, and the tool classifies the documents in that set. No browsing, citation lookup, case-law retrieval or external enrichment is mentioned on any page read, but no page states that the service does not perform any, either. | Does any part of the service retrieve content from outside the submitted document set, and can that be disabled by contract? | [Review — eDiscovery AI product page (Relevance and Privilege)](https://ediscoveryai.com/review) |
| What the tool writes without a human step | Not confirmed | The published design writes AI output straight into the review database. Relevance 'requires entry of only the prompt instructions and the field to map results', Privilege 'identifies attorneys and names them in a separate field', and a document summary with the reasons for privilege is 'provided in a privilege log entry field that can be used or edited as needed'. Nothing read describes an approval step before write-back, a draft or staging state, a limit on how many documents a run may code, or a way to reverse a run. The vendor also states 'once processed, a privilege log can be compiled and ready for your QC right away', which places quality control after the write rather than before it. | Can a run be staged for approval before it writes to Relativity fields, and how do we reverse a run that coded a set incorrectly? | [Review — eDiscovery AI product page (Relevance and Privilege)](https://ediscoveryai.com/review) |
| Human review of the output | Public claim only | The vendor builds for verification but does not publish a requirement to verify. The Review page read 2026-09-27 states that Relevance 'gives you an explanation as to why it categorized the document the way it did', that Privilege names solicitors in a separate field 'making it easy to validate results', and that the privilege-log entry 'can be used or edited as needed'. Against that, the same page publishes '90% recall' as the performance claim, and neither the page nor the website terms state that outputs must be checked by a lawyer before use, or describe any sampling or acceptance protocol. | What sampling and acceptance protocol should be applied to a run before its coding is relied on, and is any verification requirement written into your terms? | [Review — eDiscovery AI product page (Relevance and Privilege)](https://ediscoveryai.com/review); [Terms and Conditions of ediscoveryai.com — latest update 23 May 2024](https://ediscoveryai.com/terms-and-conditions) |

## Notes

Five firecrawl operations, at the cap: a 56-URL site map and the Review page in stage one; the terms and conditions, the privacy notice and the About page in stage two. THE CENTRAL FINDING IS AN ABSENCE. This vendor publishes no security page, no trust centre, no DPA, no subprocessor list, no assurance claim and no hosting-region statement anywhere in its 56-URL site map. Fifteen of the twenty critical controls are therefore not_verified, and that is the honest state of the public record rather than a research gap. The two documents that do exist are website-scoped: terms of use for ediscoveryai.com (23 May 2024) and a website privacy notice (8 January 2025) whose own scope clause limits it to information collected through the vendor's websites. Neither addresses customer review documents. WHAT THE VENDOR DOES ESTABLISH about capability is recorded from its own Review page and is specific: prompt plus destination field in, classification plus per-document written reasoning out, named-solicitor and privilege-element fields, an editable privilege-log entry field, delivery as a Relativity plug-in, and no re-indexing or retraining for new document sets. OWNERSHIP IS UNRESOLVED and deliberately left unknown: a cached search-result listing of a Legal Practice Intelligence article dated 27 February 2026 reports a HaystackID acquisition, but the vendor's own About page carries no parent, no acquisition and no HaystackID reference, and the article itself was not opened. The same treatment applies to the Australian angle: Sky Discovery's own 28 February 2025 release is the Australian partner publishing, not the vendor, so Australian presence stays unknown. NOT READ within the budget: /partners, /early-case-intelligence, /privacy, /multimedia, /press, /fact-sheets, the help centre, the vendor's 'The Book on AI Doc Review' PDF, and the Relativity App Hub listing (a directory entry, which in any event is not the vendor publishing). The Bloomington, Minnesota address and the absent corporate suffix mean the contracting entity for an Australian firm is not established. Recheck 2026-10-10: 3 claims left unverified and not applied. Confidence stayed low on 2026-10-10. The proposed medium was not applied: no security or hosting quote from the vendor's own domain was accepted.
