## How AI may be used

Lawyer-led. The application is supported by sworn affidavits (forms 104 to 111), so AI may check the form set and dates against the Court's guide and reconcile documents, but must not draft any affidavit.

**AI may:**

- Check the documents gathered (will, codicils, death certificate, consents, renunciations) against the court's list and list what is missing
- Reconcile the asset and liability schedule against bank, share, land and superannuation statements, with a source for every figure, for the lawyer to check
- Compare names of the deceased in the will, the death certificate and asset records and list differences that need explaining
- Calculate the earliest filing date from the QLR publication date (14 days) and the date the Public Trustee received the notice (7 days), for the lawyer to confirm

**AI must not:**

- Must not draft, outline or complete any affidavit or the sworn statement of assets and liabilities
- Must not decide who is entitled to the grant, whether a document is a valid will, or how a damaged or altered will is dealt with
- Must not file or lodge anything on the court portal

**The lawyer checks:**

- Form 103 notice published in the Queensland Law Reporter and a copy sent to the Public Trustee
- At least 14 days after publication and 7 days after the Public Trustee received the notice before filing
- Correct application form (101 with a will, 102 on intestacy) and supporting affidavit (105, 106 or 109)
- Exhibits attached with Form 47 certificates; original will unmarked and unattached
- Forms completed electronically, not by hand
