## When to use it

Use when a treating practitioner, a non-treating practitioner, or an employer is deciding whether a concern about a registered health practitioner must be notified to Ahpra.

## Used for these tasks

## How AI may be used

The tool may set out the guideline's four concerns and the threshold words for the notifier's group, and the lawyer decides whether a notification is required.

**AI may:**

- Identify whether the possible notifier is a treating practitioner, a non-treating practitioner, or an employer.
- Set out only the four concerns the guideline names.
- Copy the threshold phrase from the guideline's table for that group, including the differences between the rows.
- Record whether the notifier has direct knowledge, as the guideline describes reasonable belief.

**AI must not:**

- Do not decide that a mandatory notification must be made.
- Do not smooth over the table's different phrases. Treating practitioners, non-treating practitioners and employers are not worded the same way.
- Do not apply this table to a student. The guideline points to a separate student guideline, which was not opened.
- Do not cite a section of the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law. The Law was not opened.

**The lawyer checks:**

- Read the current guideline, including the section for the notifier's group. Sections 3, 4 and 5 were not extracted beyond the summary table.
- Confirm the notifier can form a reasonable belief on direct knowledge, not on rumour.
- Confirm the concern is about a registered practitioner, not a student, before this table is used.
- Keep the notifier's own account out of this checklist.
