## When to use it

Use when a compromise for a child or a person who cannot give a binding release has been, or will be, approved, and the order must say who is paid, from what, and when. Do not use it for a client who can sign the deed and be paid.

## Used for these tasks

## How AI may be used

The lawyer writes the payment orders; the tool may reconcile the waterfall against notices the lawyer has accepted and must not write the order or any affidavit that supports it.

**AI may:**

- Set the statutory-charge line beside the notice of charge the lawyer has accepted
- List a clearance named in the draft order that is not yet on the file
- Record the email or cheque step the Funds in Court page asks for, once the order exists

**AI must not:**

- Must not decide who is appointed trustee, administrator or manager
- Must not send the balance to the client because a deed has been signed, where sanction or approval is still required
- Must not put the medical or care reports into a public tool

**The lawyer checks:**

- The payee in the order matches the practice of that court: Funds in Court in a Victorian Supreme Court payment-in, the trustee or administrator in the Queensland pro forma, and the destination the New South Wales order actually states
- Medicare is a charge line in the waterfall where the Services Australia page requires the Commonwealth to be paid before the injured person is paid
- The time for payment is the time in the order, and a Victorian cheque is accompanied by the authenticated order
- Supreme Court of Victoria filings are checked against Practice Note SC Gen 25. Proposed orders are not generated and then filed
