- Jurisdictions: Victoria, Queensland, New South Wales

## When to use it

Use after a court has directed a conference of experts in a plaintiff claim in Victoria, Queensland or New South Wales. The experts write the joint report. If the agenda itself must be filed, the lawyer settles the filed copy.

## Used for these tasks

- [Draft medico-legal instructions and review the draft report](https://ailawframework.com/practice/personal-injury-and-compensation/draft-medico-legal-instructions-and-review-the-draft-report.md)
- [Check an expert report’s assumptions and AI disclosure](https://ailawframework.com/practice/personal-injury-and-compensation/check-an-expert-report-s-assumptions-and-ai-disclosure.md)

## How AI may be used

The tool may place issue headings from the direction and the served reports into the table, and the lawyer settles the note before it is sent.

**AI may:**

- Assemble the letter from the lawyer's questions, the assumption list and the document index.
- Insert the forum block the lawyer has selected and remove the other forum blocks.
- Check that every enclosed document is named in the index and that page numbers run in one sequence.
- List the served reports and their dates in the arrangements section from the brief index.

**AI must not:**

- Must not suggest, draft or strengthen the expert's opinion, diagnosis, impairment score or conclusion.
- Must not put health, wage or benefit records into a public or consumer tool, or into a tool that may train on them.
- Must not choose the forum's code or artificial intelligence rule from memory. The lawyer confirms the current instrument.
- Must not draft an affidavit, a witness statement or a statutory declaration.
- Must not draft the joint report, propose points of agreement, or comment on which expert is right.
- Must not produce the text of an agenda that is to be filed. The lawyer writes that copy.

**The lawyer checks:**

- The direction is identified, and one court block remains.
- The issue list matches the direction or the parties' written agreement, and adds nothing.
- The note tells the experts not to withhold agreement, and it does not suggest an outcome.
- The other side is copied, as the arrangements require.
