## When to use it

Use after an Application for Redress of Grievance is lodged, or when checking whether it is still in time. It does not write the complaint. The complaint itself is a separate document. It is not a witness statement.

## Used for these tasks

## How AI may be used

AI may enter dates the file already has and count the page's stated limits; the lawyer decides whether the complaint is in time and what is asked of the commanding officer.

**AI may:**

- Enter the notification date and calculate the 21-day or 6-month date the page states
- List the update dates the file records against the monthly and two-month intervals

**AI must not:**

- Must not draft the grievance or the redress sought
- Must not say the decision is stayed
- Must not say the Inspector-General can change the decision

**The lawyer checks:**

- Termination of service is kept on the 21-day row, and every other decision on the 6-month row
- Any request for a stay is made to the commanding officer, and the page's statement that there is no automatic stay is left intact
- The member is told that findings go to a Defence decision-maker
