## When to use it

Use when the vessel arrives at the load or discharge port or berth and the charter requires notice of readiness before laytime can start, or when acting for charterers or receivers who must respond to a notice without waiving their position on its validity.

## Used for these tasks

## How AI may be used

AI may fill the notice from the charter terms and the vessel's arrival data and check it against the tender conditions; the master and the lawyer or operator decide whether the vessel is ready and the notice may be tendered.

**AI may:**

- Extract the notice clause (place, hours, method, addressees, turn time) from the charter and the recap
- Fill the notice with the vessel, port and arrival times from the master's report
- List each tender condition and whether the arrival data shows it is met

**AI must not:**

- Must not state that the vessel is ready in all respects, in free pratique or cleared, unless the master has confirmed it
- Must not choose to tender at a waiting place unless the charter permits it (for example WIBON or WIPON wording)
- Must not accept a notice on behalf of charterers or receivers without the "under reserve" wording the lawyer approves

**The lawyer checks:**

- The vessel has reached the place the charter requires and is legally and physically ready to load or discharge
- The notice is tendered within the hours, by the method and to the addressees the charter requires
- Any acceptance is expressly without prejudice to the charterer's rights on validity and the commencement of laytime
