## When to use it

Use before publishing any factsheet, web page, kit or script for the public that AI helped draft, summarise or translate. Use it also for updates to existing material. Do not use it for personalised advice to a client, which needs a lawyer's full review.

## How AI may be used

AI may produce plain-language drafts, summaries and first-draft translations of self-help material. A practitioner checks legal accuracy, currency and jurisdiction against primary sources, and community and language reviewers check usability, before publication.

**AI may:**

- Draft plain-language explanations from primary sources and the centre's approved content
- Suggest simpler wording and structure, and check reading level
- Produce first-draft translations for review by a qualified translator and a community reviewer

**AI must not:**

- Must not be the source of any legal statement, deadline, fee or form reference that has not been checked against the primary source
- Must not reproduce text from copyright material that does not allow commercial reuse or adaptation
- Must not include real client stories or identifying details

**The lawyer checks:**

- Every legal statement is checked against current legislation, rules or official guidance, with the date checked
- The jurisdiction is stated and the material does not mislead readers in other places
- Time limits, fees and form names are current and flagged for review
- A named practitioner signs off and a review date is set
