## When to use it

Use when a local manufacturer objects to a gazetted application for a tariff concession order. Lodge within 50 days of the gazettal day, or 14 days if the application was amended, unless an invitation states another period. This form is not a self-assessed clearance.

## How AI may be used

AI may index the gazette notice and the invoices the lawyer marks against Form B444; the lawyer decides whether substitutable goods are produced in Australia and signs the objection.

**AI may:**

- Copy the gazette number, gazettal date, gazetted description and TC reference from the notice the lawyer marks
- List the invoices, stock records or catalogues the lawyer has already selected, with date and customer
- Flag a missing signature, a website-only description, or a date of readiness that is not before the application was lodged

**AI must not:**

- Must not decide whether the goods are substitutable or produced in Australia in the ordinary course of business
- Must not sign Form B444 or send it to tarcon@abf.gov.au
- Must not describe this form as a self-assessed clearance declaration

**The lawyer checks:**

- The objection is lodged no later than 50 days after the gazettal day, or 14 days after the gazettal day of an amended application, or inside an invited period
- Questions that apply are answered. A website address alone is not the illustrative material the form asks for
- The date the manufacturer was first prepared to accept an order is before the tariff concession application was lodged
- The applicant signs. The first two pages are sent to the tariff concession applicant. The rest is marked commercial-in-confidence on the form
