## When to use it

Use to track a claim with an insurer that has adopted the Code, for a product the Code covers. It is not a breach finding, and it does not apply where the Code says the Part 8 standards do not apply.

## Used for these tasks

## How AI may be used

AI may enter the date the claim was received and count the Code's business days once the lawyer has confirmed the count. It must not decide that the insurer breached the Code.

**AI may:**

- Enter the date the claim was received and the dates of notices already in the file
- List which of the paragraph 78 circumstances are recorded in the file and which are blank
- Flag a file with no progress update recorded for 20 business days

**AI must not:**

- Must not decide that a claim is fraudulent or that a catastrophe is an Extraordinary Catastrophe
- Must not decide that a timeframe was not practical
- Must not draft a breach allegation or a complaint

**The lawyer checks:**

- The insurer has adopted the Code and the product is not in paragraphs 10 or 11
- Business days are counted from the Code definition, including the words that follow Monday to Friday
- Paragraphs 78, 83 and 85 are considered before a date is treated as missed
