## When to use it

Use before a practitioner or clinic publishes advertising for a regulated health service, including on a website or social media.

## How AI may be used

The tool places the advertisement in the checklist and marks phrases the lawyer has selected, and the lawyer decides whether section 133 is met.

**AI may:**

- Quote the advertisement the lawyer supplies into the rows.
- Flag a use of the word surgeon for the lawyer to check against the specialist registrations named on the Ahpra page.

**AI must not:**

- Do not clear the advertisement.
- Do not rewrite it into a compliant version.
- Do not advise that Ahpra has approved it. The guidelines say Ahpra and the National Boards do not advise whether specific advertising is compliant.

**The lawyer checks:**

- Read section 133. The guidelines quote section 133(1)(a) and list the further prohibitions in the executive summary.
- Check titles against sections 113 to 120, which the guidelines say apply. Those sections were not opened.
- The guidelines took effect on 14 December 2020. The page says they will be updated for the 2022 penalty change when next reviewed.
