## When to use it

Use when a relevant entity has entered into, or amended, a procurement contract or standing offer and must decide whether a contract notice, amendment or standing offer notice is due on AusTender. Do not use it to decide whether the procurement achieved value for money.

## Used for these tasks

- [Prepare the contract and amendment reporting record within the publishing deadline](https://ailawframework.com/practice/government-procurement-and-tendering/prepare-the-contract-and-amendment-reporting-record-within-the-publishin.md)

## How AI may be used

AI may enter the contract date, value and a 42-calendar-day date from the signed record. A lawyer or official checks the entity class, whether the arrangement is a construction procurement, and what may be published.

**AI may:**

- Enter the date the contract or amendment was entered into and count 42 calendar days from that date
- Copy the supplier name, contract value and a short description from the signed contract into the reporting fields
- Flag a contract or amendment whose reporting date falls inside the next 10 calendar days

**AI must not:**

- Must not decide whether the entity is a non-corporate Commonwealth entity or a prescribed corporate Commonwealth entity
- Must not decide that a contract is, or is not, a consultancy
- Must not publish the notice on AusTender or describe information as confidential

**The lawyer checks:**

- Entity class and reporting threshold checked against paragraph 7.18
- Amendment tested against each of paragraph 7.19(a), (b) and (c), including accumulated unreported amendments
- Standing offer notice checked for supplier details and the names of other participating entities
