## Key facts

- Kind: Court document. A document filed or served in a court or tribunal.
- Practice area: [Family Violence & Protection Orders](https://ailawframework.com/precedents/family-violence-and-protection-orders.md)
- Jurisdictions: Australia, Commonwealth
- AI level: Red. Keep AI out of the decisive steps. A lawyer does the work.
- Law stated as at: 2026-10-17
- Status: Maintained. Checked on 2026-10-17 against the official form at fcfcoa.gov.au and the 5 authorities it cites, for Australia and Commonwealth.

## When to use it

Use whenever parenting orders are sought in the Federal Circuit and Family Court, including by consent, and again when new facts about abuse or family violence arise. Do not file it in property-only matters.

## How AI may be used

Lawyer-led. The Notice records allegations that the Court reports to child welfare authorities, so it must be accurate and in the client's account. AI may only help organise information the client has given; nothing about a child goes into a public tool.

**AI may:**

- Check that the incidents listed in the Notice match the supporting affidavit and the client's instructions
- List people named in the Notice who must be served

**AI must not:**

- Must not draft allegations, summarise a child's disclosures or characterise conduct
- Must not enter any child's name, school, health or disclosure details into a public or unapproved AI tool
- Must not copy content from police or child protection records into the Notice without the lawyer checking the permitted use

**The lawyer checks:**

- Each allegation is accurate, verified with the client, and supported by the affidavit
- The client understands the Notice is reported to child welfare authorities
- Safe address details and everyone required to be served
