## When to use it

Use when a provider is considering extending an overseas student's enrolment because of course progress, before the enrolment is extended.

## Used for these tasks

## How AI may be used

The tool records the circumstance and the document titles the lawyer supplies, and the lawyer decides whether the enrolment can be extended.

**AI may:**

- List the three circumstances in the words of the fact sheet.
- Attach document titles and dates the lawyer supplies for compassionate or compelling circumstances.
- Record the fact sheet's examples of those circumstances, marked as examples only.

**AI must not:**

- Do not decide that compassionate or compelling circumstances exist.
- Do not advise the student on a visa application.
- Do not add an online-learning limit. That part of the fact sheet is not applied in this record.

**The lawyer checks:**

- Read the punctuation of the fact sheet. It joins the intervention-strategy circumstance and the deferral circumstance with 'or'. It does not put 'or' after the compassionate-or-compelling circumstance.
- If the student's visa will expire before the extended end date, the fact sheet says the student will need to apply for a new Student visa (subclass 500). This record does not make that application.
- Keep copies of the documents relied on in the student's file, as the fact sheet says the provider should.
