## When to use it

Use before a Queensland bill, or before a settlement costs disclosure, on a speculative personal injury claim. Do not use it in Victoria or New South Wales, and do not use it as the costs agreement.

## Used for these tasks

## How AI may be used

The tool may list the lawyer's figures for E, R, D and the additional amounts, and it must not write the section 347 formula or treat half the settlement as the fee.

**AI may:**

- Enter E, R and D from the judgment or settlement documents and from invoices the lawyer has accepted
- List additional amounts separately from D, including interest on a disbursement loan
- Leave the cap blank until the lawyer has applied the formula in the current official text

**AI must not:**

- Must not print or reconstruct the section 347 formula, including any half-settlement arithmetic
- Must not use 50% of the amount recovered as the basis of the fee
- Must not put interest on a disbursement loan into D
- Must not say the agreement is void under section 327 except as the Proctor's statement, and must tell the lawyer to read section 327
- Must not apply this worksheet outside Queensland

**The lawyer checks:**

- The matter is a speculative personal injury claim. The definition was not inside section 347 and has been read in the Act
- E, R and D match the definitions, and each refund in R has a source
- The cap is the lawyer's calculation from the formula in the current section, not a figure generated here
- A barrister's fee is classified only after section 347(8)(b) is applied
- If the bill would exceed the cap, a written application is made before the greater amount is charged
- The worksheet stays on the file and is not sent out as the costs agreement
