## When to use it

Use when checking a price shown to a consumer before booking, ordering or purchase, including a checkout flow that adds fees. It does not decide that a display is misleading.

## How AI may be used

AI may list each price and fee shown in the screenshots or copy, in the order a consumer sees them, and the lawyer decides whether the display meets the page's rules.

**AI may:**

- List each price, fee and pre-selected option in the order it appears
- Mark whether a single total figure is at least as prominent as any partial price
- Record the menu surcharge words, if any, and compare them with the sentence on the page

**AI must not:**

- Must not decide that a was/now price or a drip-pricing flow is misleading
- Must not rewrite the advertisement or the checkout
- Must not treat the card-surcharge sentence as applying to a fee that is not a card surcharge

**The lawyer checks:**

- The single figure is the minimum total cost, including taxes, duties and unavoidable or pre-selected fees
- A fee that cannot be quantified is treated only as the page allows, and the customer is told the full total once it can be calculated
- If more than one price is displayed, either the lowest is charged or one of the page's exceptions applies
- The card-surcharge page linked from this page is read before advising on a card fee
