## Key facts

- Kind: Checklist. Steps or checks to work through and tick off.
- Practice area: [Commercial Litigation & Dispute Resolution](https://ailawframework.com/precedents/commercial-litigation-and-dispute-resolution.md)
- Jurisdictions: Australia, Queensland
- AI level: Red. You write the text. The tool writes nothing into the document. Where permitted, it may check, clarify or collect data, and anything it checks or collects is verified.
- Law stated as at: 2026-10-22
- Status: Maintained. Checked on 2026-10-22 against the 3 authorities it cites, for Australia and Queensland.

## When to use it

Use when written submissions are filed in the Supreme Court of Queensland or the District Court of Queensland, or when oral submissions are made on those written submissions. Expert-report annexures under Supreme Court Practice Direction 14 of 2024 are a different instrument.

## Used for these tasks

- [Check a court document against the AI practice note before filing](https://ailawframework.com/practice/commercial-litigation-and-dispute-resolution/check-a-court-document-against-the-ai-practice-note-before-filing.md)

## How AI may be used

The responsible person is named on the document that is filed, and that naming tells the Court the accuracy obligation was performed. The lawyer does the check and the naming. AI may list the sources for the lawyer to open.

**AI may:**

- Place a blank at the end of the submissions for the responsible person's name
- List each citation so the lawyer can open the source
- Note whether the hearing will include oral submissions, so the District Court paragraph 7 question is asked

**AI must not:**

- Must not name a firm instead of the individual practitioner
- Must not generate the submissions
- Must not mark a citation as accurate without the lawyer opening it
- Must not treat the Supreme Court and District Court directions as identical on paragraph 7. The Supreme Court scrape jumps from paragraph 6 to paragraph 8

**The lawyer checks:**

- The named person has verified the accuracy and relevance of references to legislation, authorities and other sources
- The expression reflects that person's professional judgment
- For the District Court, the person who speaks to the written submissions is identified, because paragraph 7 makes that person a responsible person for the written submissions as well
- The signed Supreme Court PDF is checked for a paragraph 7 before the District Court paragraph is copied across
