## When to use it

Use when an applicant must obtain EDGAR access and will complete Form ID on the EDGAR Filer Management dashboard. The dashboard is open from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday to Friday, except federal holidays. This is not Form D and not a registration statement.

## How AI may be used

The tool may list which of the six parts are still blank on a lawyer's checklist, and it must not enter any name, TIN or signature block that will be submitted.

**AI may:**

- List the six part titles against the lawyer's checklist and flag the 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time window
- Remind the lawyer that an individual applicant and the account administrator need full legal first, middle and last names, and that a duplicate account name suspends the application

**AI must not:**

- Must not type any name, TIN, address or billing detail into Form ID
- Must not draft the authenticating document or say that it has been notarised
- Must not treat Form ID as Form D or as a registration statement
- Must not add a perjury declaration. The opened guide does not contain one

**The lawyer checks:**

- Paper Form ID applications are not accepted. The form is completed online on the EDGAR Filer Management dashboard. It can be submitted only from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday to Friday, except federal holidays
- Form ID has six parts: application for EDGAR access, company information, prospective account administrator, billing, signature, and documents
- An individual must enter full legal first, middle and last names. Failure to do so may suspend the Form ID. The same rule is stated for the account administrator and the signatory
- Part 5 is the name and title of the authorised individual. Part 6 requires the application to be signed by that person, as defined in the EDGAR Filer Manual, Volume I, and notarised. The manual was not opened
- A duplicate of an existing account name suspends the Form ID. Broker-dealers can correct only account-administrator information on Form ID. Other corrections go by Form BD/A to FINRA's Web CRD/Gateway
- Applicants without a TIN, and foreign issuers without one, enter 00-0000000. A TIN can be updated after acceptance, using Retrieve/Edit Data, once the filer has a CCC. No perjury declaration appears in the opened guide
