## When to use it

Use with the US firm generative AI policy (a45-us-law-firm-generative-ai-use-policy) for each state where the firm's lawyers are admitted or appear. Add only the riders that apply. Each rider sits after the policy's main clauses.

## How AI may be used

A tool may select the riders for the states the firm lists and slot them into the policy. The managing lawyer confirms each state's current rules.

**AI may:**

- Pick the riders for the states the firm lists
- Insert them after the policy's main clauses with the correct numbering

**AI must not:**

- Must not add a state rider for a state the firm has not listed
- Must not paraphrase a rider to say more or less than the source

**The lawyer checks:**

- Each state's adopted rules and any newer ethics opinion
- Court-specific AI orders in each state are handled in the litigation procedures, not here
- The New York and Pennsylvania positions are added only from primary sources
