# ART checklist before Generative AI material is lodged

> The Tribunal's own checklist questions, asked before material is lodged, sent, presented or relied on. The checklist says it is a guide only and creates no new obligations. Read it with the Practice Direction.

## When to use it

## How AI may be used

AI may set out the Tribunal's questions with a blank answer. The lawyer answers each one. The checklist creates no new obligation. The live task is Yellow.

**AI may:**

- Lay out each question from the checklist with a blank for the answer
- Point from a question back to the Practice Direction paragraph that deals with it

**AI must not:**

- Must not treat a ticked checklist as compliance
- Must not add obligations the checklist does not contain. It says it creates none
- Must not answer the evidence questions. Those are the witness's and the lawyer's

**The lawyer checks:**

- Each question is answered by reference to the Practice Direction, not by the checklist alone
- The final document reflects the person's own evidence, submission or instructions
- Disclosure and explanation can be given if the direction or the Tribunal requires them
