# Ask each asset holder whether the estate can be released without a grant

> From the asset list, make one row per holder with the asset, how it is owned if the title search says so, and a blank for the holder's answer. The tool does not tell the holder that a grant is unnecessary.

| How AI is used | From the asset list, make one row per holder with the asset, how it is owned if the title search says so, and a blank for the holder's answer. The tool does not tell the holder that a grant is unnecessary. |
| What the lawyer must review | The lawyer decides, after the holder's answer, whether a grant is required for that asset. The rules below are taken from the Victorian court page and are not applied to an asset in another jurisdiction. |

## Checking plan

**Line-by-line review**

Review the complete output at the level of each line; check facts, meaning and omissions.

- What the AI does: From the asset list, make one row per holder with the asset, how it is owned if the title search says so, and a blank for the holder's answer. The tool does not tell the holder that a grant is unnecessary.
- What the lawyer does: The lawyer decides, after the holder's answer, whether a grant is required for that asset. The rules below are taken from the Victorian court page and are not applied to an asset in another jurisdiction.
- Who reviews: Responsible lawyer with competence in the matter
- Basis: Practical workflow informed by the linked primary sources; the traffic light and working checks are editorial guidance, not a court classification.
- Why: The level reflects what the work is, the consequence of an error, and how much of the output the lawyer must independently re-derive.

## Checks the lawyer makes

1. Ask the holder. Do not treat a general practice of releasing small balances as this holder's answer.
2. Mark real estate held solely or as tenant in common as requiring a grant. Do not invent an exception for a small value.
3. Keep a joint bank account and joint real estate on the paths the page states, and do not call either of them a grant.
4. Do not insert a dollar figure. The page does not give one.

## Notes

- These are suggested working checks. Confirm the required checking with the responsible lawyer before work starts; the checking approach does not establish permission to use AI.
