| How AI is used | From the charge sheet, the court outcome and the report the lawyer marks, record whether anyone was convicted or pleaded guilty, the court, and the date of that outcome. Do not decide that the scheme can pay. |
| What the lawyer must review | The lawyer decides whether this scheme, for this date of violence, requires a conviction. Check the court outcome against the order, not against a police summary. A report to police is not a conviction. Do not enter one as the other. Use a firm-controlled tool for health records. ASCR r 9, APP 11 and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) apply. |

## Checking plan

**Source-by-source verification**

Trace relied-on content to the linked source and check for material the output has missed.

- What the AI does: From the charge sheet, the court outcome and the report the lawyer marks, record whether anyone was convicted or pleaded guilty, the court, and the date of that outcome. Do not decide that the scheme can pay.
- What the lawyer does: The lawyer decides whether this scheme, for this date of violence, requires a conviction. Check the court outcome against the order, not against a police summary. A report to police is not a conviction. Do not enter one as the other. Use a firm-controlled tool for health records. ASCR r 9, APP 11 and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) apply.
- Who reviews: Responsible lawyer with competence in the matter
- Basis: Practical workflow informed by the linked primary sources; the traffic light and working checks are editorial guidance, not a court classification.
- Why: The level reflects what the work is, the consequence of an error, and how much of the output the lawyer must independently re-derive.

## Checks the lawyer makes

1. Apply the conviction rule for the date of the violence. In Queensland the date is 1 December 2009.
2. Do not treat a police report, or the absence of one, as a conviction.
3. On a New South Wales primary-victim recognition file, diary 12 months for the medical, dental or counselling report if it is not yet in. Do not copy that diary onto a family victim from this page.
4. Do not copy one State's conviction rule onto another State's file.

## Notes

- These are suggested working checks. Confirm the required checking with the responsible lawyer before work starts; the checking approach does not establish permission to use AI.
