## Checking plan

**Source-by-source verification**

Record the opened path. A change in circumstances does not revoke a will by presumption.

- What the AI does: From the file, list which of the opened paths is said to have revoked the earlier will: a later will, a writing declaring an intention to revoke, destruction, or writing on or dealing with the will. Do not decide that the will is revoked.
- What the lawyer does: The lawyer decides whether the earlier will, or part of it, has been revoked, and whether a path that depends on a section not opened is the one in issue.
- Who reviews: Responsible lawyer with competence in the matter
- Basis: Practical workflow informed by the linked primary sources; the traffic light and working checks are editorial guidance, not a court classification.
- Why: The level reflects what the work is, the consequence of an error, and how much of the output the lawyer must independently re-derive.

## Checks the lawyer makes

1. The whole or any part of a will may be revoked only in the ways the section lists. No will or part of a will may be revoked by any presumption of an intention on the ground of an alteration in circumstances.
2. The opened paths include a later will, and some writing declaring an intention to revoke the will, executed in the manner in which a will is required to be executed.
3. They also include the testator, or a person in the testator's presence and by the testator's direction, burning, tearing or otherwise destroying the will with the intention of revoking it.
4. They also include the testator, or a person in the testator's presence and at the testator's direction, writing on the will or dealing with it so that the court is satisfied from the state of the will that the testator intended to revoke it. Orders under sections 16 and 18, and revocation by sections 12 and 13, are named and were not opened.

## Notes

- These are suggested working checks. Confirm the required checking with the responsible lawyer before work starts; the checking approach does not establish permission to use AI.
