| How AI is used | The rule is state law, and the lawyer must confirm which state's law governs. For example, Florida Statutes s 732.502 requires a written will, a signature at the end, and two attesting witnesses. From the execution page, list whether the document is in writing, who signed at the end, whether that signing or acknowledgment was in the presence of at least two attesting witnesses, and whether those witnesses signed in the presence of the testator and of each other. Do not say the will is valid. |
| What the lawyer must review | The rule is state law, and the lawyer must confirm which state's law governs. For example, Florida Statutes s 732.502 says every will must be in writing. The testator must sign at the end, or another person must subscribe the testator's name at the end in the testator's presence and by the testator's direction. The signing, or the acknowledgment of a prior signature or subscription, must be in the presence of at least two attesting witnesses. The witnesses must sign in the presence of the testator and in the presence of each other. No particular form of words is necessary if those formalities are met. A codicil needs the same formalities. A will in the testator's handwriting that meets subsection (1) is not treated as a holographic will. A nonresident's will, other than a holographic or nuncupative will, can be valid in Florida if valid where it was executed. The separate electronic-will execution sections were not opened, so this check does not use them. The tool does not say the will is valid. The lawyer decides. |

## Checking plan

- What the AI does: The rule is state law, and the lawyer must confirm which state's law governs.
- Basis: Checked against the linked sources on 22 October 2026. Confirm the current instrument before reliance.

## Notes

- Wills, intestacy and probate are state law; confirm the governing state before relying on this.
- The Florida example is 2025 Florida Statutes text. The Senate site says the text is unverified. Another state's statute was not opened.
- Do not treat a handwritten page as valid without the two-witness formalities. Electronic-will execution was not opened.
