| How AI is used | List whether the file shows the required approval, the officer's certification, and recording in each county where part of the development lies. Do not invent a last day to record. |
| What the lawyer must review | You decide when the amendment is effective. Section 4270(a) says that, except where § 4225, 4230, 4235, or 4275 provides an alternative process, an amendment is effective after it has been approved by the percentage of members required by the declaration and by any other person whose approval the declaration requires, that fact has been certified in a writing executed and acknowledged by the officer designated in the declaration or by the association or, if no one is designated, by the president, and the amendment has been recorded in each county in which a portion of the common interest development is located. If the declaration specifies no percentage, § 4270(b) permits approval by a majority of all members pursuant to § 4065, which was not opened. Section 5115(g) says that in an election to approve an amendment of the governing documents, the text of the proposed amendment shall be delivered to the members with the ballot, except that an election conducted by electronic secret ballot under § 5105 may deliver that text electronically to members who vote that way, and must still deliver a written copy on request and without charge, and with the ballot to a member who votes by written secret ballot. Section 5105 was not opened. These pages do not state a last day by which the amendment must be recorded. The tool does not certify or record it. |

## Checking plan

- What the AI does: List whether the file shows the required approval, the officer's certification, and recording in each county where part of the development lies. Do not invent a last day to record.
- Basis: Checked against the linked sources on 22 October 2026. Confirm the current instrument before reliance.

## Notes

- Effectiveness follows approval, certification, and recording. There is no day-count deadline on these pages.
- Sections 4225, 4230, 4235, and 4275 are alternative processes named in § 4270. They were not opened. Do not assume they are the same three steps.
