## Checking plan

**Lawyer-led judgement**

The lawyer makes the substantive assessment. Any permitted AI assistance remains supporting work with its own checks.

- What the AI does: The tool writes nothing into the statement or statutory declaration. It may produce a strictly tabular, source-tagged list of the records the client refers to and check the signed document against the forum's formal requirements.
- What the lawyer does: The lawyer takes the client's account of their income, relationship, service or symptoms in the client's own words and confirms it reflects their own knowledge before it is signed.
- Who reviews: Responsible lawyer with competence in the matter
- Basis: Practical workflow informed by the linked primary sources; the traffic light and working checks are editorial guidance, not a court classification.
- Why: The level reflects what the work is, the consequence of an error, and how much of the output the lawyer must independently re-derive.
- Restriction: The lawyer makes the substantive assessment. Any permitted AI assistance remains supporting work with its own checks.

## Checks the lawyer makes

1. Confirm no AI-generated sentence, outline or heading appears in the statement.
2. Where an interpreter or AI translation is used, record it and make the disclosure the Practice Direction requires.
3. Read the statement back to the client and record their confirmation.

## Notes

- These are suggested working checks. Confirm the required checking with the responsible lawyer before work starts; the checking approach does not establish permission to use AI.
