## Checking plan

**Lawyer-led judgement**

The lawyer makes the substantive assessment. Any permitted AI assistance remains supporting work with its own checks.

- What the AI does: From the Board's decision and reasons and the evidence, extract the findings, the SoP factors decided and the evidence the Board relied on into a table. The tool does not write the advice.
- What the lawyer does: The lawyer advises on the prospects in the Administrative Review Tribunal, the more formal and adversarial setting, the need for legal representation, costs and timing.
- Who reviews: Responsible lawyer with competence in the matter
- Basis: Practical workflow informed by the linked primary sources; the traffic light and working checks are editorial guidance, not a court classification.
- Why: The level reflects what the work is, the consequence of an error, and how much of the output the lawyer must independently re-derive.
- Restriction: The lawyer makes the substantive assessment. Any permitted AI assistance remains supporting work with its own checks.

## Checks the lawyer makes

1. Check each finding in the table against the reasons.
2. Confirm the time limit for applying to the Tribunal from the Board's decision letter.
3. Confirm the advice addresses representation and costs, since DVA says veterans will need legal representation in the Tribunal.

## Notes

- These are suggested working checks. Confirm the required checking with the responsible lawyer before work starts; the checking approach does not establish permission to use AI.
