## Checking plan

**Verify against sources**

The list is the notices and the figures the lawyer accepts. It does not invent a Queensland refund section.

- What the AI does: List the notices the WorkCover page names, and any repayment figure the lawyer accepts. Do not calculate a refund from a section that was not opened, and do not complete a Medicare notice.
- What the lawyer does: The lawyer accepts each figure and decides which amounts are brought to account.
- Who reviews: Lawyer competent in this practice area
- Basis: Checked against the linked sources on 23 October 2026. Confirm the current instrument before reliance.

## Checks the lawyer makes

1. The WorkCover common-law page says that after damages are determined the insurer sees whether money is owed to other organisations or whether money already paid needs to be refunded. The insurer obtains notices from Services Australia for Medicare, Centrelink and the Child Support Agency, and if it applies a charge from the National Disability Insurance Agency. The page states no section number. Do not invent one.
2. The Motor Accident Insurance Commission settlement page states no refund section. Do not insert one.
3. The Medicare notification page states no separate Queensland amount. The lawyer applies that page. This list does not complete the notice of judgment or settlement.
4. A repayment of compensation already paid is included only as a figure the lawyer accepts. The tool does not calculate it.

## Notes

- Legal fees are taken out of the damages on the WorkCover page after those amounts. The fee is the figure the lawyer states. It is not calculated here.
- Health, wage and settlement material stays in a firm-controlled tool. Apply ASCR r 9 and APP 11, and consider whether a breach is notifiable under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

## Practical guide

Jurisdiction: Queensland damages payment where statutory notices may have to be brought to account

**Deliverable**: A list of the named notices and the repayment figures the lawyer accepts. No calculated refund and no completed Medicare notice.

**Inputs**

- The notices the lawyer has
- Any repayment figure the lawyer accepts

**Example**: Illustrative example: The list names Medicare and Centrelink because those notices are on the file, and it leaves the dollar blank where the lawyer has not accepted a figure.

**Stop and escalate when**

- The draft calculates a refund from an unopened section.
- The draft completes a Medicare notice.
