## Key facts

| Fact | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Practice area | [Personal Injury & Compensation (workers compensation, CTP/TAC, medical negligence)](https://ailawframework.com/practice/personal-injury-and-compensation.md) |
| Human involvement | Yellow: Lawyer and AI draft together |
| How AI is used | Compare the injury date, mechanism, body parts and time off work in the Queensland notice or application the lawyer names with the medical chronology and the payroll. List each inconsistency and each date the records do not support. Do not choose which date is right, and do not write any verification. |
| What the lawyer must review | Decide which inconsistencies are innocent and which need a further statement. If the approved form requires a statutory declaration, the tool writes nothing in it. Check the notice period for that form before the description is lodged. Use a firm-controlled tool. Check ASCR r 9, APP 11 and any notifiable breach. |
| Written for | Queensland |

## Checking plan

**Verify against sources**

The lawyer decides what the Queensland notice can say. The tool only lists clashes with the records.

- What the AI does: Compare the injury date, mechanism, body parts and time off work in the Queensland notice or application the lawyer names with the medical chronology and the payroll. List each inconsistency and each date the records do not support. Do not choose which date is right, and do not write any verification.
- What the lawyer does: Make the legal assessment, check the source material and authorise the output for its intended use.
- Who reviews: Lawyer competent in this practice area
- Basis: Checked against the linked sources on 23 October 2026. Confirm the current instrument before reliance.

## Checks the lawyer makes

1. Name the form: PIPA notice, motor accident notice, or workers' compensation application.
2. Match injury date, first symptoms, body parts and time off work to the chronology.
3. Match wage figures only to payroll the file actually holds, including the 12-month report where weekly earnings are in issue.
4. Leave any verification section blank for the lawyer.

## Notes

- Health, wage and benefit records stay in a firm-controlled tool. Check ASCR r 9, APP 11, and whether a disclosure is notifiable under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
- Personal Injuries Proceedings Act 2002 s 9(1B) says the approved form may require some or all of the notice to be verified by statutory declaration. Part 1 is due on the earlier of 9 months after the incident (or after symptoms first appear, if they were not immediate) and 1 month after a law practice is first instructed and the proposed defendant is identified.
- If the product is used in a Supreme Court submission, Practice Direction 5 of 2025 requires the named practitioner to verify every reference. District Court Practice Direction 12 of 2025 is the matching direction opened for that court.

## Practical guide

Jurisdiction: Queensland personal injury notices: PIPA, motor accident, or workers' compensation

**Deliverable**: A reconciliation table for the lawyer, with unsupported dates listed and no verification text.

**Inputs**

- The notice or application the lawyer names
- Medical chronology
- Payroll or payslips
- Date a law practice was first instructed, if known

**Example**: Illustrative example: The draft notice says the fall was on 2 March 2024 and that work stopped the same day. The discharge summary says 2 March 2025 and the payslips continue for two weeks. The table lists both dates. It does not rewrite the notice.

**Stop and escalate when**

- The form type is not identified.
- A verification section would have to be filled to complete the table.
