| What the lawyer must review | The lawyer signs the request only if the party is ready for trial. Read chapter 14 part 2 first. In a personal injury or death claim, it must have been complied with. ## Checking plan

**Verify against sources**

The lawyer signs the request for trial date. The tool lists the rule 467 items.

- What the AI does: From the file, list each rule 467 readiness item and whether it is done. The tool does not write or sign the request.
- What the lawyer does: Decide readiness and sign the request that is filed.
- Who reviews: Lawyer competent in this practice area
- Basis: Checked against the linked sources on 23 October 2026. Confirm the current instrument before reliance.

## Checks the lawyer makes

1. Serve the request on each other party. A party who is ready signs it and returns it. File, as soon as practicable, the copy signed by all parties, other than a party whose signature the court has dispensed with.
2. Ready means disclosure and inspection orders are complied with, particulars are given, delivered interrogatories are answered, necessary steps are complete, necessary witnesses will be available, and the proceeding is in all respects ready.
3. In a claim for damages for personal injury or death, chapter 14 part 2 must have been complied with. The text of that part was not opened.
4. Under Practice Direction 9, if no request is filed within 180 days of the defence, or of the latest defence, the registry issues an intervention notice. The plaintiff responds within 28 days.

## Notes

- Supreme Court Practice Direction 5 of 2025 and District Court Practice Direction 12 of 2025 require a named practitioner to verify references in submissions. They are not a ban on generative AI in evidence.
- No District Court caseflow direction was opened. Rule 467 is the request in either court. The 180-day expectation was read for Brisbane proceedings under Practice Direction 9.

## Practical guide

Jurisdiction: A Queensland personal injury proceeding ready for a request for trial date under rule 467

**Deliverable**: A rule 467 checklist. The lawyer writes and signs the request.

**Inputs**

- The pleadings, disclosure and interrogatory answers
- The witness availability
- The date of the defence, if the proceeding is in Brisbane

**Example**: Illustrative example: Disclosure is complete and one delivered interrogatory is unanswered. The checklist marks the party as not ready. The lawyer does not sign the request.

**Stop and escalate when**

- Chapter 14 part 2 has not been read in a personal injury claim.
- The tool is asked to sign the request.

Checked 2026-10-23.
