## Key facts

| Human involvement | Yellow: Lawyer and AI draft together |
| How AI is used | From the records the lawyer selects, list the injuries, the treating documents, and the questions the lawyer has already written. Do not give a percentage and do not say a threshold is met. |
| What the lawyer must review | You choose the questions and the records. The tool does not name an edition of the guides. No opened Queensland page sets a whole-person percentage as a gateway to damages. A percentage printed in a report is recorded, not adopted. Use a firm-controlled tool. Check ASCR r 9, APP 11 and any notifiable breach. |

## Checking plan

**Verify against sources**

The report is for the damages claim. The tool does not apply a percentage threshold.

- What the AI does: From the records the lawyer selects, list the injuries, the treating documents, and the questions the lawyer has already written. Do not give a percentage and do not say a threshold is met.
- What the lawyer does: Make the legal assessment, check the source material and authorise the output for its intended use.
- Who reviews: Lawyer competent in this practice area
- Basis: Checked against the linked sources on 23 October 2026. Confirm the current instrument before reliance.

## Checks the lawyer makes

1. List injuries and documents the lawyer has selected.
2. Copy a percentage only if a report states it.
3. Do not say the claim is, or is not, available because of that percentage.

## Notes

- Health, wage and scheme records stay in a firm-controlled tool. Check ASCR r 9, APP 11, and whether a disclosure is notifiable under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
- The Commission's processing page says both sides may obtain medico-legal reports, including a whole-person impairment assessment, and that the claimant must cooperate with an examination. A joint report may be requested and is not required. The page does not set a whole-person percentage as a condition of claiming damages. Scheme eligibility is a separate question and is not decided in this list.

## Practical guide

Jurisdiction: Medico-legal reports on a Queensland motor-accident damages claim

**Deliverable**: An index and the lawyer's questions. No percentage conclusion.

**Inputs**

- The records the lawyer selects
- The questions the lawyer has written

**Example**: Illustrative example: A report states a whole-person figure of 12. The index records that figure and the lawyer's question about maximum improvement. It does not say 12 meets or fails a gateway.

**Stop and escalate when**

- The lawyer has not selected the records.
- The task is scheme eligibility rather than a damages report.
