| How AI is used | From the file, list any interrogatories that have been delivered and whether an answer is on the file. The tool does not write interrogatories or answers, and it does not apply a number limit. |
| What the lawyer must review | The lawyer writes any interrogatories that are delivered, and any answers. Do not treat a party as ready for trial while a delivered interrogatory is unanswered. Do not import a Queensland number limit or subject limit. None was opened. |

## Checking plan

**Verify against sources**

The lawyer writes the questions. The tool checks rule 467 readiness, not a Victorian-style limit.

- What the AI does: From the file, list any interrogatories that have been delivered and whether an answer is on the file. The tool does not write interrogatories or answers, and it does not apply a number limit.
- What the lawyer does: Decide whether to deliver interrogatories, and write them. The tool only records whether answers are in.
- Who reviews: Lawyer competent in this practice area
- Basis: Checked against the linked sources on 23 October 2026. Confirm the current instrument before reliance.

## Checks the lawyer makes

1. Rule 467 says a party is not ready for trial unless interrogatories that have been delivered have been answered under chapter 7, part 2, division 2, subdivision 2.
2. The content of the interrogatory rules, and any requirement for leave, was not opened.
3. Do not cap the questions at 30, and do not confine them to liability, on the strength of another court's practice note.

## Notes

- Supreme Court Practice Direction 5 of 2025 and District Court Practice Direction 12 of 2025 require a named practitioner to verify references in submissions. They are not a ban on generative AI in evidence.
- Chapter 7 part 2 was not opened. The only proposition used here is the readiness cross-reference in rule 467.

## Practical guide

Jurisdiction: A Queensland proceeding in which interrogatories have been delivered, checked at the request for trial date

**Deliverable**: A list of delivered interrogatories and whether each has been answered. The lawyer writes any questions.

**Inputs**

- The interrogatories that were delivered
- The answers on the file
- Whether a request for trial date is about to be signed

**Example**: Illustrative example: Five interrogatories were delivered and two have no answer. The list marks the party as not ready. The lawyer does not sign the request.

**Stop and escalate when**

- It is unclear whether interrogatories were delivered.
- The tool is asked to draft the questions or the answers.
