| How AI is used | From the place and the contact method the lawyer names, draft a contact plan and list the identifiers a booking asks for. It does not say that leave is required, and it does not draft an application to a court. |
| What the lawyer must review | The lawyer decides how contact is made and whether any leave is required. The plan is not filed and is not an application for leave. Check ASCR r 9, APP 11, and whether a breach is notifiable under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). |

## Checking plan

**Check every instance**

The lawyer and the tool work together. The lawyer checks this output before it is used.

- What the AI does: From the place and the contact method the lawyer names, draft a contact plan and list the identifiers a booking asks for. It does not say that leave is required, and it does not draft an application to a court.
- What the lawyer does: The lawyer decides how contact is made and whether any leave is required. The plan is not filed and is not an application for leave. Check ASCR r 9, APP 11, and whether a breach is notifiable under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
- Who reviews: Responsible lawyer with competence in the matter
- Basis: Practical workflow informed by the linked primary sources; the traffic light and working checks are editorial guidance, not a court classification.
- Why: The level reflects what the work is, the consequence of an error, and how much of the output the lawyer must independently re-derive.

## Checks the lawyer makes

1. The place and the contact method are the ones the lawyer named.
2. A video booking is not completed unless the identifier and the date of birth are on the file.
3. Leave is raised only where the lawyer is considering instituting civil proceedings and the New South Wales section can apply.
4. The tool does not draft the application for leave.

## Notes

- These are suggested working checks. Confirm the required checking with the responsible lawyer before work starts; the checking approach does not establish permission to use AI.
- Health and client information stays in a firm-controlled tool. A public tool is not used.
- No Queensland corrective-services visit rule was opened. There is no Queensland version.
- Sections of the Felons Act after section 5 were not opened.

## Forms and precedents for this task

| Form or precedent | Kind | AI level | Summary |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Letter asking a prison for contact with a client](https://ailawframework.com/precedents/personal-injury-and-compensation/custody-contact-request.md) | Letter | Yellow | Letter asking a Victorian, Queensland or New South Wales prison to arrange a confidential legal conference with a person in custody, using that centre's own booking rule. |
| [Authority for a lawyer to act for a person in custody](https://ailawframework.com/precedents/personal-injury-and-compensation/custody-client-authority.md) | Form | Yellow | A short authority the person in custody can sign so the firm may arrange contact with the prison and receive non-medical information about where they are. It is not a medical release. |
