## Key facts

| Fact | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Practice area | [Personal Injury & Compensation (workers compensation, CTP/TAC, medical negligence)](https://ailawframework.com/practice/personal-injury-and-compensation.md) |
| Human involvement | Yellow: Lawyer and AI draft together |
| How AI is used | From the proposed index, flag a medical record, a tax document, a superseded pleading, a service document, an overarching-obligations certificate, and any document that appears twice. The tool does not decide what is tendered. |
| What the lawyer must review | The lawyer decides what is included in the file given to the judge. Do not treat a document left out as unable to be tendered, or a document included as a tender. Keep medical records and tax documents out of that file unless the court has asked for them. Do not put clinical records into a public AI tool. |

## Checking plan

**Key documents check**

The lawyer settles the file. The tool flags documents the practice note says to leave out.

- What the AI does: From the proposed index, flag a medical record, a tax document, a superseded pleading, a service document, an overarching-obligations certificate, and any document that appears twice. The tool does not decide what is tendered.
- What the lawyer does: The lawyer decides what is included in the file given to the judge. Leaving a document out does not stop it being tendered. Including it is not a tender. Keep medical records and tax documents out of that file unless the court has asked for them. Do not put clinical records into a public AI tool.
- Who reviews: Responsible lawyer with competence in the matter
- Basis: Practical workflow informed by the linked primary sources; the traffic light and working checks are editorial guidance, not a court classification.
- Why: The level reflects what the work is, the consequence of an error, and how much of the output the lawyer must independently re-derive.

## Checks the lawyer makes

1. Open the flagged document. Do not rely on the index description alone.
2. Where the note excludes medical records and tax documents as a matter of course, leave them out unless the court has included them.
3. Check the file is one text-searchable PDF, bookmarked, with page numbers that match the display.
4. Put documents that will be shown to a witness, and that do not belong in the key file, in the witness bundle.

## Notes

- These are suggested working checks. Confirm the required checking with the responsible lawyer before work starts; the checking approach does not establish permission to use AI.
