## Checking plan

**Verify against sources**

The lawyer checks the treatment chronology against the pages. It does not diagnose and it is not the notice of claim.

- What the AI does: Build a dated treatment chronology with the provider, the complaint, the findings and the page, and keep the consultation date, the report date and the event date apart.
- What the lawyer does: Make the legal assessment, check the source material and authorise the output for its intended use.
- Who reviews: Lawyer competent in this practice area
- Basis: Checked against the linked sources on 23 October 2026. Confirm the current instrument before reliance.

## Checks the lawyer makes

1. Each row states the provider, what the record says the person reported, what the record says was found, and the page. Do not add a diagnosis the record does not state.
2. Keep three dates separate: the day of the consultation or test, the day of the report, and the day of the event the report describes.
3. A gap in the records is a gap. It is not a finding that there was no treatment or no symptom.
4. Health information stays in a firm-controlled tool. This chronology is not copied into a notice of claim.

## Notes

- Guidance Statement No. 37 points to rule 9 of the Australian Solicitors' Conduct Rules and to the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). The courts page says confidential health information is not entered into a public chatbot.
- If the chronology is later annexed to a filed document, the practitioner checks it under the practice direction of that court.

## Practical guide

Jurisdiction: Queensland plaintiff personal injury. The chronology is a working aid from the records.

**Deliverable**: A treatment chronology with page cites and separated dates, for the lawyer's check.

**Inputs**

- The record set in the firm-controlled tool
- The lawyer's instruction on the period to cover
- Any existing approved chronology

**Example**: Illustrative example: A report dated in March describes a fall in January. The draft uses the March date as the fall. The lawyer splits the dates and cites the page that states the January day.

**Stop and escalate when**

- A row has no page.
- The draft adds a diagnosis or fills a notice of claim.
