## Key facts

| Fact | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Practice area | [Personal Injury & Compensation (workers compensation, CTP/TAC, medical negligence)](https://ailawframework.com/practice/personal-injury-and-compensation.md) |
| Human involvement | Red: Lawyer writes; AI may check, clarify or collect data |
| How AI is used | Index the documents the lawyer selects against the leave test each source states, and note which element has a document and which does not. Do not write the application or any affidavit that will be filed. |
| What the lawyer must review | The lawyer writes the application and any affidavit that will be filed. The tool only indexes and compares. It does not fill a court document. Apply the court's current generative-AI practice note before tool material is used. Health, wage and scheme records stay in the firm tool. ASCR r 9 and APP 11 apply, and a breach may be notifiable. |

## Checking plan

**Lawyer-led judgement**

The lawyer makes the substantive assessment. Any permitted AI assistance remains supporting work with its own checks.

- What the AI does: Index the documents the lawyer selects against the leave test each source states, and note which element has a document and which does not. Do not write the application or any affidavit that will be filed.
- What the lawyer does: The lawyer writes the application and any affidavit that will be filed. The tool only indexes and compares. It does not fill a court document. Apply the court's current generative-AI practice note before tool material is used. Health, wage and scheme records stay in the firm tool. ASCR r 9 and APP 11 apply, and a breach may be notifiable.
- Who reviews: Responsible lawyer with competence in the matter
- Basis: Practical workflow informed by the linked primary sources; the traffic light and working checks are editorial guidance, not a court classification.
- Why: The level reflects what the work is, the consequence of an error, and how much of the output the lawyer must independently re-derive.
- Restriction: The lawyer writes anything filed in court. The tool only indexes and compares.

## Checks the lawyer makes

1. Match each leave element to a document, or mark it as missing.
2. Do not write the application or any affidavit.
3. Do not insert a dollar figure for the indexed maximum.
4. Keep an unidentified-vehicle time bar separate from a limitation extension.

## Notes

- These are suggested working checks. Confirm the required checking with the responsible lawyer before work starts; the checking approach does not establish permission to use AI.
