## Key facts

| Fact | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Practice area | [Personal Injury & Compensation (workers compensation, CTP/TAC, medical negligence)](https://ailawframework.com/practice/personal-injury-and-compensation.md) |
| Human involvement | Yellow: Lawyer and AI draft together |
| How AI is used | From the language the lawyer records, draft an interview plan that names that language, any dialect the lawyer records, and who the lawyer proposes will interpret. It does not decide that an interpreter is required, and it does not book an interpreter for a hearing. |
| What the lawyer must review | The lawyer decides whether an interpreter is required and who is engaged. The plan stays on the file. It is not sent to a court. Check ASCR r 9, APP 11, and whether a breach is notifiable under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). |

## Checking plan

**Check every instance**

The lawyer and the tool work together. The lawyer checks this output before it is used.

- What the AI does: From the language the lawyer records, draft an interview plan that names that language, any dialect the lawyer records, and who the lawyer proposes will interpret. It does not decide that an interpreter is required, and it does not book an interpreter for a hearing.
- What the lawyer does: The lawyer decides whether an interpreter is required and who is engaged. The plan stays on the file. It is not sent to a court. Check ASCR r 9, APP 11, and whether a breach is notifiable under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
- Who reviews: Responsible lawyer with competence in the matter
- Basis: Practical workflow informed by the linked primary sources; the traffic light and working checks are editorial guidance, not a court classification.
- Why: The level reflects what the work is, the consequence of an error, and how much of the output the lawyer must independently re-derive.

## Checks the lawyer makes

1. Check the language and any dialect against what the client or the lawyer said, not against a guess.
2. The lawyer, not the tool, chooses the interpreter and decides whether a family member may interpret.
3. Do not turn the plan into a request to a court registry.
4. In a Queensland civil matter, do not use the criminal court-paid interpreter path.

## Notes

- These are suggested working checks. Confirm the required checking with the responsible lawyer before work starts; the checking approach does not establish permission to use AI.
- Health and client information stays in a firm-controlled tool. A public tool is not used.
- Evidence Act s 30 in Victoria and New South Wales was read. It is the same witness rule and is not a separate intake version.
- The Queensland criminal practice directions named on the courts page were not opened. Evidence Act 1977 (Qld) s 131A was not opened.
