| How AI is used | Index each medical record against the limitation and the accommodation the person has asked for, with the provider and the date. Do not write the request, and do not say the person is a qualified individual. |
| What the lawyer must review | 42 U.S.C. § 12112(a) prohibits a covered entity from discriminating against a qualified individual on the basis of disability in job application procedures, hiring, advancement, discharge, compensation, job training and other terms, conditions and privileges of employment. Section 12112(b) includes not making reasonable accommodation to the known physical or mental limitations of an otherwise qualified applicant or employee, unless the covered entity can demonstrate undue hardship. You decide whether the records match the request and whether the person is qualified. A Social Security disability file uses the SSA appeal steps, not this section. Do not apply an NDIS reasonable-and-necessary support test. |

## Checking plan

- What the AI does: Index each medical record against the limitation and the accommodation the person has asked for, with the provider and the date. Do not write the request, and do not say the person is a qualified individual.
- Basis: Checked against the linked sources on 22 October 2026. Confirm the current instrument before reliance.

## Notes

- Medical records are information relating to the representation. Do not put them in a public or self-learning tool without the Rule 1.6 analysis in Formal Opinion 512.
- Title I of the ADA is employment. Title II and Title III were not the sections opened for this version.
