| What the lawyer must review | The lawyer sets the register fields once, against the Commission's published rules, and a nominated person then enters each clearance. The lawyer checks exceptions and exclusions. |

## Checking plan

**Worker screening register**

Enter clearances against the Commission's fields. Do not decide whether a role needs a check.

- What the AI does: From clearance records and the provider's worker list, fill a register with the worker screening number, the issuing state or territory, the issue and expiry dates, the 90-day renewal window, and whether the worker is linked to this provider in the national database.
- What the lawyer does: The lawyer sets the register fields once, against the Commission's published rules, and a nominated person then enters each clearance. The lawyer checks exceptions and exclusions.
- Who reviews: Responsible lawyer with competence in the matter
- Basis: Practical workflow informed by the linked primary sources; the traffic light and working checks are editorial guidance, not a court classification.
- Why: The level reflects what the work is, the consequence of an error, and how much of the output the lawyer must independently re-derive.

## Checks the lawyer makes

1. Take the expiry date from the clearance record, and count the renewal window as up to 90 days before that date.
2. Record the portal that applies after 12 October 2026. Registered providers use the new Commission portal. Unregistered providers do not, on the page as opened.
3. A clearance that is excluded or cancelled is escalated to the lawyer. It is not entered as current.
4. Do not assume a worker may work while the application is pending. That depends on the state unit's rule, which this overview does not list.

## Notes

- These are suggested working checks. Confirm the required checking with the responsible lawyer before work starts; the checking approach does not establish permission to use AI.
