## Checking plan

**Lawyer-led judgement**

The lawyer makes the substantive assessment. Any permitted AI assistance remains supporting work with its own checks.

- What the AI does: From the NDIA's proposal, the plan and the evidence-to-criteria table, set out side by side what the participant sought, what is offered and what is left out. The tool does not write the advice.
- What the lawyer does: The lawyer advises the participant or nominee on the merits of accepting, the prospects at hearing and the effect on the plan, and records the instructions.
- Who reviews: Responsible lawyer with competence in the matter
- Basis: Practical workflow informed by the linked primary sources; the traffic light and working checks are editorial guidance, not a court classification.
- Why: The level reflects what the work is, the consequence of an error, and how much of the output the lawyer must independently re-derive.
- Restriction: The lawyer makes the substantive assessment. Any permitted AI assistance remains supporting work with its own checks.

## Checks the lawyer makes

1. Check the comparison against the proposal and the plan, not a summary of either.
2. Confirm the advice explains what the participant gives up by agreeing.
3. Confirm instructions come from the person with authority to give them.

## Notes

- These are suggested working checks. Confirm the required checking with the responsible lawyer before work starts; the checking approach does not establish permission to use AI.
