| How AI is used | From the file notes and the grant, list any change in the aided person's means or circumstances, or in any other matter relating to the grant, and record whether the change is one the aided person or the practice ought reasonably to suspect might lead the commission to end the aid or alter its nature or extent. |
| What the lawyer must review | The lawyer decides whether a written notice is required and writes the notice. The model does not send it. |

## Checking plan

**Change against the written-notice duty**

List the change and whether it is one that ought reasonably to be suspected of affecting the grant.

- What the AI does: From the file notes and the grant, list any change in the aided person's means or circumstances, or in any other matter relating to the grant, and record whether the change is one the aided person or the practice ought reasonably to suspect might lead the commission to end the aid or alter its nature or extent.
- What the lawyer does: The lawyer decides whether a written notice is required and writes the notice. The model does not send it.
- Who reviews: Responsible lawyer with competence in the matter
- Basis: Practical workflow informed by the linked primary sources; the traffic light and working checks are editorial guidance, not a court classification.
- Why: The level reflects what the work is, the consequence of an error, and how much of the output the lawyer must independently re-derive.

## Checks the lawyer makes

1. Record the change in means, circumstances or another matter relating to the grant, and the date the aided person or the practice became aware of it.
2. Do not decide that the grant should end or continue. That decision stays with the commission.
3. Do not treat privilege as removing the written-notice duty.
4. The lawyer writes and sends any notice. The model does not.

## Notes

- These are suggested working checks. Confirm the required checking with the responsible lawyer before work starts; the checking approach does not establish permission to use AI.
