| Human involvement | Yellow: Lawyer and AI draft together |
| How AI is used | List each demand, invoice, and reply in date order, with the amount the document states and the date. Do not write a petition and do not count creditors. |
| What the lawyer must review | 11 U.S.C. § 303(a): an involuntary case may be commenced only under chapter 7 or chapter 11, and not against a farmer, a family farmer, or a corporation that is not a moneyed, business, or commercial corporation. Section 303(b) commences the case by a petition. If there are 12 or more holders of the kind of claim the subsection describes, three or more entities holding claims that are not contingent as to liability or the subject of a bona fide dispute as to liability or amount must join, and those claims must aggregate at least the printed statutory amount of $10,000 more than the value of any lien securing them. The statute marks that dollar amount with an adjustment footnote. If there are fewer than 12 such holders, excluding an employee or insider and a transferee of a transfer voidable under the sections § 303(b) names, one or more such holders may file, again at the printed $10,000 floor with the same footnote. The lawyer confirms the dollar amount in force on the petition date. This version does not state an adjusted figure. The lawyer writes the petition. Bankruptcy Rule 9011(b) certifies it. |

## Checking plan

- What the AI does: List each demand, invoice, and reply in date order, with the amount the document states and the date. Do not write a petition and do not count creditors.
- Basis: Checked against the linked sources on 22 October 2026. Confirm the current instrument before reliance.

## Notes

- The chronology is not a creditor count. The exclusions in § 303(b) for the “fewer than 12” test are the lawyer’s application.
- Do not use a company-law winding-up form. The petition is filed in the bankruptcy court under § 303.
- Section 303(c) was not applied here.
