## Checking plan

**Lawyer review required**

The responsible lawyer reviews the work against the instructions, sources and intended use.

- What the AI does: From the sponsor’s approval, the nominations, payroll, position descriptions and notification history, populate the validated compliance record for each sponsored worker with each obligation, the evidence held and any change that may need to be notified, and flag gaps.
- What the lawyer does: The lawyer confirms the obligations that apply to this sponsor and worker under the Act and Regulations, checks each flag against the records, and advises on notifications and remediation.
- Who reviews: Responsible lawyer with competence in the matter
- Basis: Practical workflow informed by the linked primary sources; the traffic light and working checks are editorial guidance, not a court classification.
- Why: The level reflects what the work is, the consequence of an error, and how much of the output the lawyer must independently re-derive.

## Checks the lawyer makes

1. Confirm the client’s identity documents, immigration history and any protection or family violence information go only into a tool approved for client data, and that the client has consented to AI use as the practice requires.
2. Check the obligations list against the Regulations in force on the day.
3. Check each worker’s pay and role against payroll and the nomination.
4. Confirm any notification due has a date and owner.

## Notes

- These are suggested working checks. Confirm the required checking with the responsible lawyer before work starts; the checking approach does not establish permission to use AI.
