| How AI is used | Draft the debrief from the evaluation record the contracting officer has approved, using only the items FAR 15.506(d) lists. Do not add a comparison with another offeror's proposal. |
| What the lawyer must review | An offeror who requests a debriefing in writing within 3 days after notice of award is debriefed and given the basis for the selection. To the maximum extent practicable the debriefing should occur within 5 days after the request. FAR 15.506(d) sets the minimum contents, including significant weaknesses or deficiencies, the overall evaluated cost or price and technical rating of the successful offeror and of the debriefed offeror, the overall ranking when one was developed, a summary of the rationale for award, and reasonable responses to relevant questions. The debriefing must not include a point-by-point comparison with other proposals, and it must not reveal trade secrets, privileged cost breakdowns, or the names of past-performance references. The contracting officer approves the script. Accommodating a late request does not automatically extend the protest deadline. |

## Checking plan

- What the AI does: Draft the debrief from the evaluation record the contracting officer has approved, using only the items FAR 15.506(d) lists. Do not add a comparison with another offeror's proposal.
- Basis: Checked against the linked sources on 22 October 2026. Confirm the current instrument before reliance.

## Notes

- A delayed or untimely debriefing does not, by itself, extend the time to protest. Read FAR 15.506(a) and 4 C.F.R. § 21.2 together.
- An official summary of the debriefing goes in the contract file. The contracting officer settles that summary.
