## Checking plan

**Lawyer review required**

The responsible lawyer reviews the work against the instructions, sources and intended use.

- What the AI does: From the licensee’s adviser records (appointments, cessations, qualifications, authorisations, CPD status), compare each adviser’s details with the public register, list every difference with its effective date, and calculate the update deadline for each.
- What the lawyer does: The compliance manager or lawyer confirms each difference against the adviser’s records, decides what must be updated, and confirms the register is corrected within the deadline.
- Who reviews: Responsible lawyer with competence in the matter
- Basis: Practical workflow informed by the linked primary sources; the traffic light and working checks are editorial guidance, not a court classification.
- Why: The level reflects what the work is, the consequence of an error, and how much of the output the lawyer must independently re-derive.

## Checks the lawyer makes

1. Confirm client and complaint records go only into a tool the licensee has approved for customer data, and that outputs disclose no client information beyond what the recipient needs.
2. Check each difference against the adviser’s source records.
3. Count each 30 business day deadline from the change date.
4. Confirm updates appear on the public register.

## Notes

- These are suggested working checks. Confirm the required checking with the responsible lawyer before work starts; the checking approach does not establish permission to use AI.
