| How AI is used | Place the delinquency start, payment due dates, application date, and any foreclosure-sale date from the file on one timeline. Do not count a five-day period and do not decide that a notice was required. |
| What the lawyer must review | There is no general financial-firm internal-dispute timeframe in the sources opened for this task. The only day counts used are in 12 C.F.R. sections 1024.39 and 1024.41, and only for a mortgage servicer. Section 1024.39 uses the 36th day for live contact, the 45th day for the written notice, and a limit of once in any 180-day period, with the repeat rules in paragraph (b)(1). Section 1024.41 uses 45 days or more before a foreclosure sale for the acknowledgment duty, 5 days excluding legal public holidays, Saturdays, and Sundays, more than 37 days before the sale for the 30-day evaluation duty, and acceptance floors of 14 days or 7 days under paragraph (e). The CFPB complaint page says most companies respond within 15 days, and that companies generally respond in 15 days with a final response in 60 days in some cases. Those sentences are not legal deadlines and are not placed on this timeline. The lawyer checks every date and decides whether an exemption applies. The Cornell pages are not the official edition. |

## Checking plan

- What the AI does: Place the delinquency start, payment due dates, application date, and any foreclosure-sale date from the file on one timeline. Do not count a five-day period and do not decide that a notice was required.
- Basis: Checked against the linked sources on 22 October 2026. Confirm the current instrument before reliance.

## Notes

- Do not use 15 days or 60 days as a legal deadline.
- These day counts are for a mortgage servicer, not every financial firm.
- Confirm the official edition. The Cornell pages are copies.
